Singapore-based big data startup Latize announced its first Australian Government partner in New South Wales in December. Now, embarking on the road of progress, it has strengthened its presence in Australia by setting up a new office in Perth.

Also, Latize has hired former international management consultant Steve Hussey as its Chief Strategy Officer, who will be overseeing Latize’s growth strategy development and execution.

The expansion and strengthening clearly comes at a time when there is a surge in the adoption of analytics and big data in Australia. In a report, Gartner speculates that the Australian business intelligence and analytics market may touch $889.1 million in 2017, which would signify a 13.4% hike from 2016. The prominent factors responsible for driving growth include modern tools that support greater accessibility, agility and analytical insight at the enterprise level.

Vikram Mengi, co-founder and CEO of Latize, on the appointment of Steve says,
“Having helped many companies, both large and small, successfully execute their growth strategies, we’re excited to tap into his knowledge and work with him to help grow Latize in Singapore and abroad.”

With his appointment, Latize is stepping up to focus on business growth and expansion. It is now eyeing the US market and expanding its user base in the country.

Closing its first customer in Australia, the NSW government’s Division of Resources and Energy of the Department of Industry (DRE), the deal marks its entry into the market as the company targets customers from sectors like finance, banking and education. Biju K, co-founder and COO of Latize, says, “We’re also pleased to announce our expansion in Australia, with the opening of our new office in Perth to support our growing presence and keen interest in Latize from companies in Australia.”

Latize forays in data handling, it assembles data from both within the client’s organisation, and from public sources such websites, social media networks to provide a comprehensive update of the scenario. It transforms the data, representing in an organised manner simultaneously maximizing insights from it to help the firm achieve its goals.

Latize had raised $1.4 million from Singapore-based investment firms including ACP, SPRING Seeds Capital and Tembusu ICT 1 Fund. It is now seeking to raise $5-$7 million in its next funding round to facilitate the expansion into the US and within Australia.
