Singapore big data provider Latize has opened an office in Perth as it seeks  to strengthen its presence in Australia.

Latize already has an office in Sydney which was opened in the last quarter of 2016.
The company recently signed up its first Australian customer, the NSW Government’s Division of Resources and Energy of the Department of Industry.

Former international management consultant Steve Hussey has been hired by Latize as chief strategy officer.

Research firm Gartner has predicted that the Australian business intelligence and analytics market is forecast to reach $889.1 million in 2017, a 13.4% increase from 2016.
Latize is looking to capitalise on this growth.

Chief executive and co-founder Vikram Mengi was quoted as saying in a media release: “Latize is proud to announce the hiring of Steve Hussey as our new chief strategy officer.
“He brings with him almost three decades of management consulting experience across a range of technology-based industries in various locations such as Australia, Silicon Valley, China, and Europe.

“Having helped many companies, both large and small, successfully execute their growth strategies, we’re excited to tap into his knowledge and work with him to help grow Latize in Singapore and abroad.”

Latize is backed by Singapore-based investment firms including ACP, SPRING Seeds Capital and Tembusu ICT 1 Fund, and is looking to raise $5 million to $7 million in its next funding round to aid its expansion into the US and within Australia.
