Singapore/Australia, 5 April, 2018 Latize, a Singapore based big data and analytics upstart, has entered into a strategic partnership with HashChing, an Australian online mortgage broking marketplace. Through the partnership HashChing’s customers will now have access to smarter product recommendations.

Latize’s proprietary Ulysses platform enables HashChing to better understand its customer data before recommending home loans which are highly customized to specific consumer needs. This will then be expanded upon to leverage Latize’s insurtech specialty to offer customers insurance-as-a-service options – including renters’, home and contents, mortgage insurance as well as life and general options.

“We are excited to enter into this partnership with Latize and hope to realize better value for our customers”, said Mandeep Sodhi, Founder and CEO of HashChing. “Buying a new home is a significant life decision for any family and individual. By leveraging Latize’s platform, we will be able to understand our customers and offer them personalized products that meet their specific needs as they embark upon the process of buying a home. With Latize, we hope to continue improving our product offerings to our customers and offer them customizable services tailored to their needs.”

A 2018 study on the real estate sector in Australia by consulting firm Deloitte revealed that analysing real estate data could help with forecasting and personalization, and help transform the real estate ecosystem as a whole.

“Real estate is one of those sectors where there are troves of customer data”, said Graham Robinson, Director, Australia and New Zealand, Latize. “In today’s economy, data has become the new oil. We here at Latize are looking at how we can analyse all this data and glean actionable insights which can help customers make better informed decisions when deciding on a home loan or an insurance policy.”

With offices in Sydney and Perth, Latize’s first foray into the ANZ market was with the Government of New South Wales’ Division of Resources and Energy within the Department of Industry, helping them analyse data for use in mine safety, environmental, licensing, royalties and reporting compliance analysis. They have since expanded their customer portfolio in Australia to include the Presbyterian Ladies College. The partnership with HashChing marks Latize’s entry into the real estate sector and their first engagement with a startup.

“According to a report by consulting firm KPMG, USD$555 million was invested in Australian startups in 2017. The economy is in the pink of health, and Latize hopes to continue engaging with not just Australian startups, but small-to-medium and large enterprises as well,” says Biju Krishnan, Co-Founder and COO of Latize. “We have plans to expand into the state of Victoria and tap into our insurtech experience and work with the Australian insurance industry as well.”

As part of its continued growth and expansion plans, Latize is in the midst of a Series A round of funding and is looking to raise US$5 to US$7 million to support its efforts. In addition to working with educational institutes in Australia and Singapore, Latize can also count on global insurance underwriter TWG as one of its customers, along with Singapore government bodies such as the National Library Board, and Infocomm Media and Development Authority.
